Challenging MTB tours, flowing single trails, enjoyable e-bike routes, the demanding Stoneman Taurista Challenge…well, where do you start? Some people are fit mountain bikers, others want to reach the peaks with electric support or just cruise for pleasure on the flat, along the Enns and the Tauern cycle path. It’s a good thing that there are places in the Salzburger Sportworld and the nearby Dachstein-Schladming region which offer cycle tours for all levels.

Tips for Rainy Days

We always say to our guests that there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes. And rain is also important – because it makes the meadows and forests greener and cleans the air. However, the Salzburger Land region offers plenty of alternatives and indoor activities when the weather isn’t so kind and also provides an opportunity to find out interesting things in museums, to get to know castles, salt mines, caves or to visit a cheese dairy, schnapps distillery or the Lodenwalker clothing factory.

A few wet weather alternatives for your Radstadt Summer holiday

Enjoy a day at the pool – in the Therme Amadé, at Schladming Activity Pool or in Wagrain’s Water World
Visit the Giant Ice Caves in Werfen – in the cave it has a constant temperature of around 0 degrees anyway and you only have to be outdoors for the walk to the cave
The Liechtensteinklamm in St. Johann Alpendorf is also open on cloudy days or light rain
When you visit the salt mines at Salzbergwerk Hallein or the Copper mine in Hüttau, the whole tour is underground
The Natural History and Discovery Centre- Haus der Natur in Salzburg is a great way to spend the day and keep the kids busy
Take an afternoon to explore local museums. In Radstadt there is the Museum Kapuzinter tower and Schloß Lerchen castle, Altenmarkt has its Local History Museum, Wagrain has the Silent Night Museum and Waggerl House
in Mandling, you can visit the Mountain Pine and Schnapps Distillery at the Mandlberggut and possibly combine that with a tour of the Steiner 1888 Woolworld
